Rustic Roots Home Childcare Hello and welcome to Rustic Roots Home Childcare's page! Hi! my name is Jen and I am the owner and Childcare Provider at Rustic Roots Home Childcare.

I am a Developmental Services Worker and Child & Youth Worker graduate, with many years of experience both with children and individuals with disabilities. Rustic Roots is a Licensed Home Childcare and has been open since 2020. We are open Monday through Friday, from 6:30am to 5:30pm. Rustic Roots accepts infants through school-age (before & after school*)

Here at Rustic Roots we plan activities based on the interests, needs and skills of the children. We are a play-based and child-directed Childcare and although we plan for certain activities, sometimes these activities may be replaced by a new interest initiated by the children. Good evening everyone,

Rustic Roots Home Childcare has limited spaces available. If you're in need of care, please contact us as soon as possible. We would hate to miss the opportunity to assist you and your little one!

We also have spaces coming available for September, as we say fair-well to our Preschoolers. So again, please reach out if this is something you need as spaces tend to fill fast that time of year.

🏡Rustic Roots Home Childcare🪵 has recently made some changes and has reached out to families in need of care. We're now looking to fill a couple more spaces with little ones whom are eager to learn, inquire and grow!

Hi! My name is Jen and I am a Developmental Services and Child & Youth Worker graduate. I have Child Development education and many years of experience with children, as well as supporting individuals with disabilities. I am a Mom of three school-aged kiddos and am very passionate about watching little minds grow. It never gets old to see a child master a new skill!

🗓️Rustic Roots is located in a great neighbourhood of Wallaceburg, ON and operates M-F 6:30am-5:30pm.

👩‍🏫Our program encourages learning through play and focuses on every day social and life skills. Through planned and child-led activities, we teach literacy, math and science concepts, as well as build upon fine and gross motor skills.

🏡We provide a nurturing and welcoming environment with a true "home away from home" feel.

🍽️Provided daily are two nutritional snacks and a lunch.

🛝Outside we have a fully-fenced in play space that includes a play house, picnic table, seasonal toys/activities (water table, sleds, etc), slides, push and ride toys, a play tool bench, mini basketball court, mud kitchen, as well as a log circle for story-telling, tic-tac-toe and open play.

🚶‍♀️Weather permitting and based on the time of year, we also go on field trips to local parks, nearby splash pads, community services and special events.

ABOUT US:
Hi my name is Jen. I am a DSW, CYW graduate with an ECE background and years of experience with children, as well as individuals with disabilities. I am also a mother of three school-aged kiddos.

Rustic Roots is located in a great neighborhood within Wallaceburg and operates Monday through Friday 6:30am-5:30pm.

Our program is Licensed and offers subsidy and CWELCC to assist families with having more affordable childcare.

Rustic Roots operates much like a center-based childcare (daily routines and structure); however, with a home away from home atmosphere and lower ratios, we're able to provide more 1:1 and personalized learning.

We are a learning through play program where we have planned day-to-day activities, with the flexibility for child-led activities. We celebrate holidays, birthdays and occasionally attend special events when and where possible. Throughout the year we may also plan themed days. Our program encourages learning and growth in literacy, math, science, motor development and other cognitive skills.

Here we do activities based on age appropriateness such as sensory bins/table, craft, group songs and group activities such as experiments. We have a variety of items for the children to access including blocks & floor toys, a play kitchen and/or food truck (or other furnishings as we rotate items), dolls, dress-up items, books, puzzles and other brain-challenging activities. We also have a variety of loose items that the children can be creative and use their imagination with for play.

Outside we have a fenced in backyard which includes a table space for our outdoor picnics and activities. We have a play house; a chalkboard picnic table; stumps for climbing, tic-tac-toe & open play; slides, riding & push toys; water toys & activities; a play tool bench; a basketball net as well as a bunch of other sporting equipment; mud-kitchen, sensory space items, and more!

Weather permitting and based on the time of year, we also go on day trips to local parks, the nearby splash pad, community services such as the Library, special events, etc.
