🏅 HISTORY IN MOTION
The starter’s horn sounded at Great Lakes Secondary School—and with it, a new LKDSB tradition was born.
For the first time, 531 elementary student athletes from across our entire board came together for a unified Track & Field Meet— with representation stretching from Wheatley to Grand Bend.
From powerful sprints to soaring jumps and electrifying relays, the day was filled with determination, sportsmanship, and unforgettable moments. Even more impactful? Students competing alongside peers they’d never met before, building connections that reached far beyond the finish line.
This wasn’t just a meet—it was the beginning of something bigger for LKDSB students.

Our Grade 3/4 class has been working on Probability and hosted their Probability Fair this week. Great job everyone!

Art Card orders are due on Monday, May 25th - no late orders will be accepted
Tomorrow is Freezie Friday - freezies will be on sale for $1.00 at second break - please be sure to send the money with your child, the office cannot be responsible for delivering money to classes.

Just a reminder that there is no pizza day tomorrow due to Track & Field!

Since having our Track & Field Day off-site at WDSS is a brand new adventure for us, some clarification is needed.

Our events begin at the high school at 10 a.m. this Thursday. Students will be leaving HWB at approximately 9:20 a.m. and walking over. IF YOUR CHILD IS BEING DROPPED OFF DIRECTLY AT WDSS FOR 10 a.m., PLEASE NOTIFY Mrs. Aubie IN THE OFFICE.

Our Track & Field events should be ending between 1:30 and 2:00.

Students have only 2 options for leaving WDSS:

- Students will walk back to HWB with their classmates, teachers and parent volunteers, OR
- Students will sign-out with their teacher, and leave with a parent or adult family member.​

* STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO WALK HOME INDEPENDENTLY FROM WDSS. *​

In case of the possibility of inclement weather, please listen to 99.1 CKXS early Thursday morning for information.
