📚🎒 BACK TO SCHOOL IS ALMOST HERE, RIVERHAWKS! 🐾

It’s hard to believe that the 2026–2027 school year is just around the corner!

We’ve put together our 2026–2027 Recommended School Supply Lists to help families prepare for the year ahead.

📅 First Day for Students: Tuesday, September 8, 2026

A reminder to families: you do not need to purchase everything on these lists. WDCS provides basic classroom supplies for shared use, and personal school supplies are optional.

We also have supplies available to support families who may need assistance. If purchasing school supplies is a financial concern for your family, please reach out to the school. We are happy to help. ❤️

The recommended lists are organized by grade from Kindergarten through Grade 12, with additional information for French and Physical Education.

Please remember that classroom and course-specific needs may vary slightly. Teachers may provide additional information once classes are established in September.

📝 A few helpful reminders:

• Label personal belongings whenever possible
• Headphones are recommended for computer use
• Athletic shoes are recommended for elementary students
• Grades 4–8 French students will need a pocket folder
• Grades 4–8 Phys. Ed. students should have athletic shoes and comfortable gym clothing
• Secondary students can purchase the required Dudley combination locks through the school office
• Course-specific secondary supply requirements will be communicated by teachers

Most importantly, please don't feel pressured to purchase everything on the list. These are recommended supplies, not a requirement for families to purchase everything listed.

We hope this helps take some of the stress out of getting ready for September!

Bluewater District School Board, Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board, and Shared School Services are pleased to share that an agreement in principle has been reached with our bus operators. As such, student transportation will proceed as normal for the start of the school year in September!

✅ Important: Families must opt in for transportation for each child through the Edulog Parent Portal App. Students will not be assigned to a bus route unless this step is completed.

Thank you to our bus operators, staff, and families for your patience throughout this process. We're looking forward to a great start to the school year!

Together, Bluewater District School Board, Bruce-Grey Catholic District School Board, and Shared School Services are working to ensure reliable student transportation for the beginning of the school year.

Despite our continued efforts, we have not yet reached a resolution with our bus operators. We want to be transparent with families: bus service may not be available for all students at the start of the school year in September. As a result, families should be prepared to arrange alternative transportation for their children if needed.

We recognize and understand the challenges this may present for our families and are committed to keeping families informed as this situation develops.

What a fantastic day celebrating Walkerton Homecoming! 🎉

WDCS was proud to take part in the parade with our school float, showcasing the incredible spirit of our students, staff, and community.

A huge thank you to our dedicated staff and our amazing Parent Council for the time, creativity, and hard work that went into making our float possible. Your contributions helped make the day a great success! A special shout out to Sherry Zettler, Amanda Bonnett, Jenna Hoffarth and April Berry! Thank you!

It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces lining the streets and celebrating everything that makes our community so special. A great day, lots of fun, and memories made together. 💙🖤🤍

Please note: This closure does not affect the Brockton Day Camp, which will continue to operate as scheduled.
