Senior Girls Flag Football 🏈

This year marked the inaugural season of our high school senior girls flag football program. We were proud to field two teams, with athletes coming not only from our school but also from Cudworth School. As a brand new team, the athletes embraced the challenge of learning the game, developing their skills, and building team chemistry throughout the season. With hard work, sportsmanship, and dedication, the athletes represented their schools with pride while helping establish a strong foundation for the future of flag football in our area. The season was filled with growth, memorable moments, and exciting competition, making it a successful first chapter for our flag football program.

Athletes: Madilyn Brophy, Kori-Jo Hauber, Anika Elgersma, Kate Mourot, Emily Kohle, Emma Chelack, Hannah Korol, Alison Huang, Marti Burechailo, Haddison Gaudry, Allison Frie, Mayson Michalko, Zoe Sander, Makenna Hackl, Olivia Korol, Paisley Gaudet, Hannah Hauber, Olivia McLeod, Savannah Sawitsky, Jillian Mourot, and Kinsley Hackl.

"The land is the real teacher. All we need as students is mindfulness."
— Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants

Today, on National Indigenous Peoples Day, we recognize and celebrate the histories, cultures, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

This week, our schools and communities came together at the Humboldt Partnership Powwow to learn, celebrate, and honour Indigenous cultures and traditions. We are grateful for the teachings, relationships, and opportunities to continue learning together.
