We are so glad that some of the sensory tools we ordered to use in our daycare for our neurodivergent children have arrived. Some of the sensory tools are wiggle cushions, chewlery, weighted lap blankets with gel. All these sensory regulation tools help children find their "just right" physical state of learning and playing.
Just like some friends need glasses to help their eyes see better, some friends need these tools to help their bodies feel calm and comfortable.

Everyday they work hard with all their passion and unconditional love for our little humans!

And on one random day, when one of the parents shows appreciation and love for them, it definitely leaves them with teary eyes đź’–.

Big thank you to one of the parents for this amazing appreciation. We are truly grateful!!

Investing in our children means investing in education!

I am proud to share that I have earned an Autism Spectrum Disorder in Early Childhood certification.
My goal is to create an environment where every child feels safe, understood, and included. Every child’s brain is wired beautifully and uniquely. This specialized training gives our team deeper insights, evidence-based tools, and tailored strategies to support, understand, and uplift neurodivergent children in our care. I am so excited to bring these new skills into our daily routines, sensory play, and learning environments!

Thank you for trusting us with your precious little ones. Here’s to growing together! 💖

Calgary lost a beautiful soul a few days ago, Parker Wells, 11 years old, Level 3 autistic child. Such a heartbreaking new it was. đź’”

When we talk about neurodiverse child, we talk about ADHD, Autism, ADD, Dyslexia where their brain is wired differently, which does not mean we have to fix it. Understanding a neurodiverse child means learning to see the world through their eyes instead of forcing them to see it through ours. Their behaviors, intense interests, and unique ways of communicating are not things to fix—they are how they express their thoughts, sensory needs, and emotions. True acceptance starts when we pause, listen, and change how we interact to meet them where they are. When we choose curiosity over judgment, we create a safe space for them to truly thrive just as they are. ❤️

✨

Parker was eleven years old and had autism. He was last seen leaving his day home facility in Calgary’s Cambrian Heights neighborhood around 11:30 a.m. on July 16. On Wednesday, July 29, Calgary Police found a body inside a culvert in a green space on the west side of Deerfoot Trail.
They believe the child is likely Parker. Significant efforts are still needed to access the body and confirm the identity. Recovery efforts are under way. Authorities think he entered the culvert, traveled up a pipe, and continued into a network of tunnels on the east side of the roadway.
The tip that directed them to the site arrived on July 28 from a person who found evidence consistent with the clothing Parker was last known to be wearing. The Calgary Fire Department assisted. The area is described as incredibly harsh terrain within a water environment where conditions affect what can be observed.
During the thirteen days, police reviewed more than 600 tips and 100,000 CCTV clips from over 650 cameras. They do not suspect foul play, but the investigation remains open.
“This is not the outcome anyone hoped for. Like so many others, we hoped Parker would be brought home safely. Our thoughts are with Parker’s family, loved ones and all those affected by this devastating loss.”
Mayor Jeromy Farkas and Premier Danielle Smith both issued public condolences, describing the news as devastating and noting the unique heartbreak of losing a child.
A boy walked out of a daycare in the middle of a weekday morning and was later found inside a pipe under a major trail. The search was exhaustive. The ending was still the same.
Parker. Calgary, Alberta. Eleven years old.
Share this so his name is remembered beyond the culvert where the search concluded.
