Late last week our final side of Funshine II was landscaped with some beautiful rubber paving done by CVS Rubber Paving.

We can’t thank our donors Tundra Oil &Gas , Richardson Pioneer and Kingston Midstream for giving us a massive push to the end for us to make this possible this summer. We also want to thank all our fundraiser supporters throughout the year as this was also a contributing factor!

We can’t wait to play some basketball , soccer, baseball games!!

Donna Cochrane from the Virden Crazy Stitchers Club presents a donation of a $1000.00 to Funshine Early Learning Programs. We will use this to enhance our libraries. Thank you to the Crazy Stitchers!

Our beautiful new sign is up from NRG thanking our amazing sponsors who helped make our rubber paving project possible this spring! While we patiently wait for our turn we can admire our sign !

We also wanted to thank our very dedicated parents for helping out with our annual spring clean up at Funshine 1 and 2. Our yards are looking nice and refreshed for a hard summer of playing!! Thank you so much to everyone that came out it’s very appreciated by all !!

Funshine Early Learning would like to congratulate Renae Janzen who works at Funshine 1 for recently completing her Early Childhood Educator studies. She started the online program in September of 2024 and is now waiting for her Diploma. We are proud of you Renae for all of your hard work!

The applicant must have current First Aid/CPR or make arrangements to receive it. They must have a cleared criminal record and child abuse registry check within the last three months.

This past month has been busy with some re-modeling and organizing! Our goal on our wish list this year is functional and beautiful.

Leon put together some beautiful custom shelving for some of our storage area making everything much easier to store and see!!

We also got a much needed portable island for our kitchen and commercial mixer so we can do some serious prep work and save our cooks arms!

Last we got some much needed plug ins on our counters because who doesn’t need more! Thanks to LRB for the quick, tidy and super friendly service while answering a million what are you doing questions from curious children!

This was all possible because of our 2025 Virden Ladies Golf Classic ! We appreciate this donation so much to help with these very functional improvements that help our jobs run smoother.

February was a busy one for Funshine!
We have so many amazing programs and businesses we have the opportunity to partner with. The Virden Jr 'A' Oil Capitals came to all 3 sites taking time out of their busy schedule to read to us and have little skate! Which you can imagine is quite the hit!

The Border Regional Library is always so much fun to visit. A great space to read new books and listen to some of the best story tellers !

Some of us also headed to the VJH for some stories with the students! We loved listening to them read us stories in their building but also enjoys having them come to ours !

Seniors Access to Independent Living - SAIL , Westman and Sherwood were also on our list of field trips for the children and “grandmas + grandpas” could listen to 3 Billy goats gruff play, stories, singing songs and playing a game of hockey!

We also had some guest readers at our sites like Constable Jessy from the Virden RCMP!

How lucky are we that we have so many community members show up to give us different experiences for the next generation!
