π My Happy Place: π
There's nothing quite like getting lost in the pages of a great book, and today I want to share some of my all-time favorite reads with you! ππ
"Matilda" by Roald Dahl. The enchanting story of a gifted young girl with a love for books and a remarkable talent that leads her on a magical journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
"The Secret Garden," authored by Frances Hodgson Burnett, is a heartwarming tale of Mary Lennox, who discovers a hidden, neglected garden on her uncle's estate, and as she nurtures the garden back to life, she, too, undergoes a transformation that brings healing and happiness to her own life.
"The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien is a beloved fantasy novel that follows the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, a reluctant hobbit who is thrust into an epic quest to help a group of dwarves reclaim their homeland from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Along the way, Bilbo encounters a host of magical creatures, faces daunting challenges, and ultimately discovers courage and resourcefulness within himself that he never knew he possessed. (A top favourite!)
"The Borrowers," written by Mary Norton, is a charming tale about a tiny family of "Borrowers" who live secretly beneath the floorboards of a human house, borrowing small items to make their own lives comfortable. Norton's book captures the magic of a hidden, miniature society living right under our noses.
"A Series of Unfortunate Events" is a darkly humorous book series written by Lemony Snicket. The story follows the misadventures of the Baudelaire orphans - Violet, Klaus, and Sunny - who are left orphaned after a tragic fire destroys their home. The series is known for its witty narration, intricate plots, and the quirky characters the orphans encounter along their journey.
