Music for Young Children (MYC) is a dynamic, child-centered curriculum for ages newborn through pre-teen. This innovative, Canadian system combines proven music education theories into one comprehensive method of keyboard, rhythm, singing, theory, movement and more. A fun and imaginative environment filled with games, storytelling and hands-on activities engages children in learning and allows them to explore music concepts while building concentration, self-expression and confidence. MYC is the perfect program for children with no previous musical experience as well as those who have already developed a love for music. Children 2.5-4 have a natural energy where they are constantly singing and moving to a rhythm or beat. Music for Young Children (MYC)'s Sunrise program is an exciting and innovative pre-school music & movement curriculum.

Teddy Bears help teach the children rhythms and students received instruction with singing, and ear training. The child-centred curriculum includes stories, songs, and games to ensure that all children feel and achieve a high level of engagement and success.

Today we celebrate the birthday of MYC founder, Frances Mae Balodis.

In 1980, Frances sat at her kitchen table in Dartmouth, NS with a clear goal in mind: to create a program that would fulfill the need for quality music education for young children. Over 45 years later, MYC is still an international leading quality music program! Thank you for your vision, Frances.
