Camosun College

Camosun College Life-changing learning on Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ Territories (Victoria, BC). Camosun College is located in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia.

Our two campuses serve approximately 19,000 learners a year in certificate, diploma, bachelor's degree and continuing education programs. The college welcomed its first students in 1971 and adopted the name “Camosun”, a local Lkwungen (Songhees) First Nation name meaning “where different waters meet and are transformed.” Today, Camosun College offers over 160 innovative programs to help meet the needs of students and communities in Victoria and beyond.

On Tuesday, Sept. 29, a special ceremony will be held to mark Orange Shirt Day and honour residential school Survivors from 1:30pm at Na’tsa’maht on the Lansdowne campus.
Students seeking support are welcome to visit the Lansdowne Counselling Office (Dawson 202) or call 250-370-3571 to arrange a time to meet with a counsellor that afternoon or anytime following the event.

Camosun College will be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026 to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The federally-recognized day honours the children who never returned home and acknowledges the enduring impact of residential schools on survivors, their families and communities. We encourage the Camosun community to spend this day in thoughtful reflection.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day, will be marked with a special ceremony on Sept. 29 at Na’tsa’maht on Camosun College’s Lansdowne campus.

The ceremony will feature speakers including students Kathy Bryce and Michelle George who will speak from the heart about their educational journey and what Orange Shirt Day means to them. Virgil Sampson, a Coast Salish artist from the Tsartlip Nation, will speak as well.

Students, employees, community members and media are invited to witness and participate in the ceremony remembering the residential school experience and looking forward to the transformative action we can take together.
