Junior Kindergarten was full of energy and excitement when Senior School Science Teacher and Head of Science, Mr. Tessarolo, stopped by last spring with some hands‑on experiments, lab coats, and safety goggles.

One of the best parts of overnight camp? Campers get to truly experience life at St. Michaels University School through boarding, roommates, and shared meals.

Rising Leaders Camp brought together youth from around the world for an immersive experience focused on leadership, self-awareness, communication, teamwork, and service.
From creating and leading workshops to taking on service projects, exploring Victoria and Camp Barnard, and building friendships across cultures, the campers stepped outside their comfort zones and put their leadership skills into action.

Step into the huddle with Sophie de Goede as she's mic’d up leading drills at the Gainline Sport Coaching Rugby Camp hosted at SMUS.
The high-performance, co-ed camp drew participants from the Lower Mainland and across Western Canada. It was incredible seeing so many athletes come out and give it their all!
Thanks to Sophie and all our incredible Rugby Canada athletes who were out at the camp including Paige Farries, DeLeaka Menin and Adam Doane as well as Gainline's very own Aaron Thomas William and Scott Manning (coach of the UVic Vikes men's rugby team).

Competitive. Immersive. Unforgettable. 🏀
Basketball athletes came together for a week of skill development, competition, teamwork, and fun. With high coach-to-player ratios, campers received individualized attention and plenty of opportunities to refine their skills and take their game to the next level.
This summer’s coaching roster featured an accomplished group of coaches and SMUS alumni, offering campers the chance to learn more about the sport both on and off the court.

The award, announced today on United Nations International Youth Day recognizes Jared from a pool of more than 3,400 applicants representing 40 countries.
