Here’s a little bit more about our grads:

Colin has been our team captain for 2 years, a member for 4 years, Drive Coach for 3 years and was a Dean's List Finalist Award winner for FTC in 2025. He is pursuing Engineering at UBC.

Steven was the team captain of the Esquimalt Proton Pulverizers for FRC. This year he joined our team and was our strategy lead at 2026 Worlds. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology at UBC, with future plans of medicine and cardiology.

Bosco was our FTC programming head and was dedicated to making programming more accessible to our students. In the 2 years he's with us he has hosted workshops and trained many new members. He is planning on studying electrical engineering at Camosun College.

Anon programmed for both FTC and FRC in the 1 year he has been with us. He plans to pursue electrical engineering at Camosun College.

Ben was our drive head, and safety captain. In the 2 years Ben has been in the Atom Smashers he has done various volunteering and public work. He is planning to go into trades.

Thompson lent a hand wherever needed around the team the 2 years he has been with us. Thompson is planning to take mechanical engineering at Camosun College.

Colby joined our team 2 years ago and helped whenever possible. He's planning to get into trades to get a red seal.

Evan used CAD to help design the Esquimalt Proton Pulverizers robot, designing the drivebase, intake, and indexing subsystems, and was a driver for FRC. He is going to continue with engineering in post-secondary. Evan has been with our team for 1 year.

This past weekend, the Esquimalt Atom Smashers was proud to support Buccaneer Days! We cooked Langos, sold pie plate raffle tickets, and set up a demonstration of our robots to engage with the community while also helping to fundraise for our team’s activities.

In Bullen Park, our team cooked Langos (a Hungarian sweet treat made of deep fried bread and various seasonings) for fairgoers. Tons of lovely people came by and we were delighted to serve everyone!

Inside the Archie Browning Sports Centre, we had 2 live demonstrations running. One with our FTC robots on a field for kids to drive, and a second using an interactive FRC simulation.

Thank you to everyone who came to see us over Buccaneer Days, we had a great time and can’t wait to come back next year! ❤️❤️❤️

Come by Buccaneer Days this weekend to pick up a fresh Langos on the Midway or check out our robot demonstrations in the Marketplace. Raffle pie plates will also be available for sale for the skydiver jump on Sunday - limited quantities, so get them while you can!
