SCAMPS camps are finally approaching! We're so happy to see so many of our camps fill up this year and to know that this summer will be looking a lot more normal as BC Covid restrictions ease.

For anyone who has yet to register, we have a few spots left in our collection of French summer camps happening this month and in August. Check out our website at www.uvic.ca/scamps for more details!

Did you hear?! B.C's four-step Restart program anticipates a return to usual for indoor and outdoor personal gatherings by this July. Just in time for SCAMPS array of summer camps!

Though SCAMPS maintains our COVID Action Plan as an organized gathering, it is wonderful to know that this summer will be looking a lot more normal, and we can enjoy some fun in the sun, safely.

For any parents who have been concerned about COVID-19 and missed some of our registration dates, fear not! SCAMPS still has availability in two of our camps:

-Dans la forêt- July 12-16 | Ages 6-12
-Français autour du monde- August 3-6 | Ages 6-12

Meet Matt, our sixth senior counsellor for this SCAMPS season!

"Hello! My name is Matt. While living and studying in Québec for several years, I came to love the French language and culture, and I am looking forward to sharing this enthusiasm for French with the kids who come to SCAMPS. I hope to be a high-school teacher one day. In my free time, I enjoy playing piano and singing in choir. Looking forward to seeing you this summer!" -Matt

Say, bonjour, to Alexa, SCAMPS' program coordinator!

"Hi! My name is Alexa and I am the program coordinator for SCAMPS this year. I grew up in Winnipeg and moved to Victoria four years ago to attend UVic and have loved being able to explore the island. I’ll graduate next year with a degree in French with honours focusing on children’s literature. I hope to one day become a French immersion teacher. I can’t wait to spend this summer having fun adventures with SCAMPS." -Alexa

Say, bonjour, to our returning counsellor, Nora!

"Hi everyone! I'm Nora and this is my second year as a leader with SCAMPS- I had so much fun I decided to come back! I graduated from French immersion 2020 and speak fluent German as well; I LOVE languages. I just finished my first year studying chemistry at UVic and I play for the varsity field hockey team 😊 I'm super excited to play lots of games, explore nature and the city, and have lots of language fun!!! I'm so excited to meet you all!" -Nora

SCAMPS counsellor three! Meet Kathleen!

"Bonjour! My name is Kathleen and I am in grade 11 French immersion at Oak Bay High School. I have volunteered at Scamps for the past few years and I am so happy to be back this summer. When I'm not at school I enjoy dancing and assisting with mini ballet classes at my studio. I love spending time with friends and kids of all ages. I can't wait to meet you!" -Kathleen

Camp counsellor number two! Say, bonjour, to Jennifer!

"Hello! I am Jennifer. I am currently a third-year student at the University of Victoria, majoring in French. I have always loved working with kids, and I hope to become an elementary school teacher one day. In my free time, I like to paint and draw. I love speaking French and having fun, so I look forward to doing both this summer!" -Jennifer

"Bonjour! My name is Amira, and I am a grade 12 French Immersion student at École Reynolds. I have volunteered with SCAMPS for the past three summers, and I am excited to come back this year as a camp counsellor. I love playing soccer, reading, and playing piano. I am an avid Harry Potter fan and recently got a puppy named Gryffindor! À bientôt!" - Amira
