Bioluminescence is still going strong! Just a few more days this year to catch this favourite night time activity in Victoria. We had another great night on the water last night with visitors from Germany, UK and the Northwest Territories. Congrats to Izzy for capturing the photo of the year of the bioluminescent plankton. We have a few more dates in our calendar if you want to join us this year. Otherwise see you next year starting April 1, 2027. Lots of rain wildlife adventures over the winter months. We love September at South Island SUP! At first a few distant humpback whales. Then a sea lion synchronized swimming show. Followed by a surprise humpback surfacing next to us. Join Faro Sailing and South Island SUP for a 2-day, 1-night sailing and paddleboarding adventure in the Southern Gulf Islands. Over the weekend, you’ll split your time between hands-on sailing aboard Silver Sea Star, a 37-foot sailboat, and guided SUP adventures along the coastline of Pender Island. Expect clear waters, sandstone shorelines, hidden beaches, marine wildlife, and a relaxed small-group atmosphere. No prior sailing or paddleboarding experience is required — just a sense of adventure and a willingness to learn, explore, and have fun on the water.
What’s included

1 night accommodation at OrcaView Lodge on Pender Island
Accommodations either 1 QS bed in separate private bedroom for couples or a Double bed in a shared bedroom
Meals from Day 1 lunch to Day 2 lunch: 1 breakfast, 2 lunches, and 1 dinner

Yesterday was a whale of a day! Great to be out there! 17 km next level paddling. 4 hours of never ending excitement. Thanks Gina Lemieux and Vibes Fitness Oak Bay for the fun day! And thanks to Gina for being a whale whisperer! FYI the whale visited us. We were drifting in the current phone in hand on 5X optical zoom and further zoom in during editing. Great to be the only ones out there during our whale encounter (the whale visited after all the whale watching boats left the area). If you are out there in a powerboat pleasing travel at low speed.
