At Pearson College UWC, we believe in the power of dialogue to navigate the world's most complex issues.

🌍 In our latest Global Lunch, YR 52 students Ryan and Noam bravely take the stage to discuss the history and escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.

Beyond the geopolitics, they share their deeply personal perspectives on how these events impact their daily lives. A true testament to the importance of cross-cultural understanding and peacebuilding. 🕊️

Happy World Teachers’ Day! 🌎📚

At Pearson College UWC, learning happens everywhere, and the people who guide, challenge and inspire our students are at the heart of it.

Today, we celebrate the teachers who ask questions, open minds, encourage curiosity and help young people see new possibilities for the future.

To all the educators who learn alongside our students and help shape the people they become: thank you. 💙

Economics isn’t just read; it’s experienced! 📈✨

In Samuel’s Economics class, students took part in an assembly line simulation. The goal? To understand how productivity, specialization, and economic efficiency work through teamwork.

Watching our students collaborate, make mistakes, and adjust their strategy in real-time is the perfect example of the UWC educational model: active, analytical, and always collaborative. 🤝💙

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Today, we honour Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and recognize the lasting impacts of the residential school system on First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities.

At Pearson College UWC, reconciliation is an ongoing journey. We learn and live on the traditional and unceded territory of the SC’IȺNEW̱ Nation, and we recognize the importance of listening, learning, building relationships, and taking meaningful action.

Today, we pause to remember.
We listen to Indigenous voices.
We continue learning.
And we reflect on our shared responsibility to reconciliation.

🧡 Every Child Matters.

Celebrating our legacy and looking toward the future. ✨

We recently welcomed Michael Pearson to Pearson College for the official book launch of Private Letters, Public Matters. During this event, our community had the unique opportunity to delve into the historical impact of Lester B. Pearson and discover how his vision for diplomacy remains an essential guide today.

Sharing this space of learning, history, and public service with the leaders of tomorrow was an incredible experience.

Thank you to everyone who joined us!

The ultimate classroom is right outside. 🌲🌎
Our Y52 and Y53 Climate Action Leadership Diploma (CALD) students headed into the island's stunning landscapes to get a closer look at forest ecology and economy.

From the Pacheedaht sawmill to the ancient giants of Eden Grove and Big Lonely Doug, this field trip was a total immersion in nature.

Our future climate leaders in action, connecting deeply with the environment they aim to protect! 🌿💙
