Women in STEM Event:

Students and caregivers who would like to know more about educational and career options for female students interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math are encouraged to attend an Empowering Women in STEM event at Vic High on Tuesday, October 28 (6:30 - 8:30pm).

Change takes time and the steps are sometimes small… but then you see movement and it keeps you going on hard days.

Effective July 1, 2024, British Columbia dropped “special needs” from the school act language and replaced it with “Disabilities and diverse abilities.” A welcome change that honours an identity that has LONG been ignored and constantly replaced by euphemisms.

Language matters and people with Disabilities are not special, they are human. This small but mighty change shouts from the rooftops that we no longer have to tiptoe around the word … and existence of Disabled.
