The 12th annual World Ocean Day at Fisherman’s Wharf was a huge success! 🌊

A special thank you to the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority and for organizing and hosting such an important event.

We welcomed thousands of visitors throughout the day, with over 300 people connecting directly with local organizations—learning about ocean conservation, sustainability, and how we can all help protect the ocean.

Two more days until our 12 annual World Ocean Day Celebration at Fisherman's Wharf! We are looking forward to our iconic friends from the Canadian Orca Rescue Society (CORS) to join us on May 31.

CORS is a Victoria-based nonprofit dedicated to the conservation of the Southern Resident Orca Pods and their ecosystems. They focus on restoring wild salmon habitats in British Columbia to benefit orcas, fisherman, seals, and other ocean-dwellers.
On World Ocean Day, they'll bring their crowd-pleasing inflatable orcas and share insights with visitors about restoration hatcheries, along with the challenges and solutions facing the Salish Sea.
Visit Fisherman’s Wharf between 11am and 4pm on May 31 to meet the Canadian Orca Rescue Society and more than 25 other marine-based organizations.

Cetus Research & Conservation Society will be joining us on May 31 to celebrate World Ocean Day at Fisherman's Wharf! Cetus Research & Conservation Society is a non-profit marine conservation organization founded in 2005 to address the increasing endangerment of BC's killer whales due to human activities. Cetus works to protect whales and other marine mammals from harassment and harm through research, education, and direct intervention. As vessel traffic in the region increases, Cetus's work becomes more and more crucial to their survival. Come and learn how you can be be Whale Wise!

We are four days away from the 12th annual World Ocean Day celebration at Fisherman's Wharf! We are looking forward to seeing our friends from the Royal BC Museum. This museum is home to millions of specimens, including many from the marine environment. Come by their table to experience, learn and interact with a variety of animal specimens from the fascinating ocean, from barnacles to baleen.
