The Victoria Fringe Festival starts tomorrow, and it's great to see so many Phoenix students and alumni bringing their work to the festival!

Congrats to alumni Nicholas Guerreiro and Annie Konstantinov, who just received Pick of the Fringe at the Nanaimo Fringe Festival for Consider the Dongfish. We have a feeling some of our own Phoenix peeps could be in the running for that same honour here at home, especially since the audience gets to vote for their favourites!

Check out the Fringe lineup and support the amazing work your friends are creating.

Phoenix students and alumni: are you involved in a Fringe show? Tag us, and we’ll do our best to help spread the word!

Hey Phoenix students and alumni!

Summer is almost here, which means it’s nearly time for another amazing season of Victoria Fringe Festival featuring lots of Phoenix talent on and off stage.

As we transition to some new platforms at the Phoenix this year, we won’t have an August newsletter, but we still want to help spread the word about your work.

If you’re a current Phoenix student or grad involved in a Fringe show, be sure to tag us on social media and we’ll happily repost and share your posts!

Get ready for a season full of wit, energy, and Broadway sparkle.

THE CHERRY ORCHARD (Nov 5–14)
Anton Chekhov's wry masterpiece translated by Michael Frayn.
Directed by Carmen Aguirre.

A family returns to their beloved estate to find it deeply in debt and at risk of being lost. As the threat of auction looms, the family clings to memory and tradition, reluctant to face what lies ahead. The Cherry Orchard blends Chekhov’s sharp wit and heartbreak in equal measure.

THE WOLVES (Feb 4–13)
A high-octane contemporary play by Sarah DeLappe.
Directed by Amanda Lisman.

A girls’ indoor soccer team navigates friendship, identity, and growing up. As they train, conversations shift from school and relationships to bigger questions about the world and what lies ahead. The play unfolds through the collective voice of the team, revealing a candid portrait of young women coming into their own.

CURTAINS (Mar 4–20)
Book by Rupert Holmes featuring music by legendary songwriting duo John Kander and Fred Ebb (Cabaret and Chicago).
Directed & Choreographed by Jacques Lemay.

Golden Age sparkle meets the intrigue of a classic detective mystery. When a Broadway-bound show’s leading lady drops dead, the entire cast becomes suspects. Packed with big laughs, dazzling musical numbers, and plenty of twists, the question isn't just whodunit but can the show go on?

We can't wait to welcome you back to our theatres!
