This week the Alacrity team got together in Victoria for a few days of co-working, training, LEGO competitions, barbecues, beach trips, and catching up in person.

We’re spread across BC most of the year, so these weeks together are always a highlight. Thanks to everyone who made it such a fun one!

We’re currently supporting our first cohort of 66+ companies through our Allied Readiness Capabilities Lab as they explore dual-use defence and help build Canada’a defence ecosystem. This was a great opportunity to learn and be part of conversations around collective safety for Canadians.

☕️ There’s something slightly ambitious about voluntarily showing up to a networking event before 8 AM during Web Summit week… but somehow the room was full before the coffee even finished brewing.

This morning, FUNK. & Friends brought together founders, investors, operators, creatives, and community builders from across the ecosystem for great conversation, new connections, and a strong reminder of why in-person community matters.

Alacrity Canada recently launched ARC Lab, a new initiative which prepares Canadian technology companies to compete & scale within defence and security markets

Applications are now open for the first ARC Lab program, ARC Dual-Use Training. This six-month intensive program will help organizations build a dual-use readiness plan with hands-on support to:

· Learn to self-assess market readiness within the dual-use landscape
· Explore the regulatory and security foundations for trusted participation
· Dive deep into contracting and subcontracting structures
· Examine cybersecurity governance and sovereignty systems
· Delve into required capabilities across manufacturing, logistics, and digital infrastructure

Last Friday, our team got together in Victoria for a full day of conversations around Alacrity’s operations and programming, making sure we’re aligned, energized, and ready for the year ahead. 💡

Later that evening, we reconvened at our Founder Studio to celebrate the hard work our team has put in this year supporting our portfolio companies and programming. We shared a great dinner, spent some time getting creative with a paint night, and even painted each other as a fun bonding experience 🎨

So grateful for this team and everything they bring to Alacrity. Feeling excited for what’s ahead.❤️
