Please join the NSMP for our upcoming workshop March 4 1900 titled “Mystery Amid Death and Dying” with Coby Tschanz RN, PHD and Erika Lahnsteiner UVNS4. Coby and Erika will discuss navigating caring for patients in the process of dying and post-mortem as well as coping with the emotional toll it can take on nurses/nursing students. Their goal is to take some of the mystery out of death and dying and try and find comfort in the process while providing tools and strategies to feel prepared to deal with a patient death. It will cover the nurses role near, at time, and post death as well as coping strategies to assist in the emotional aspect of patient death. They hope to provide confidence to students and mitigate fears surrounding end of life care. All BSN students and staff are welcome.

Join the NSMP in welcoming our guest speaker, Andrea Turner, to our workshop on Burnout and Mindful Self Compassion. In our BSN program, we have the opportunity to discuss burnout and compassion fatigue and we may have even witnessed burnout in our own clinical practice. In this workshop, Andrea will introduce a term which new scientific research is identifying as another source of "fatigue" witnessed in nursing. She will also be introducing us to some mindful self compassion practice activities we can begin to introduce into our practice as students. Andrea Turner is one of our BSN instructors at Camosun College and also co-leads the Mindfulness Self Compassion circles. By attending this workshop you will be entered into our End of Semester Raffle Giveaway and will have the chance to win one of three of our great prizes. Join us on February 4 @ 1900 on Zoom.
