We are thinking of the families and communities who are being evacuated, those who have been displaced from their homes, and the many frontline workers who are responding with care, urgency, and courage. These are incredibly difficult times, and our hearts are with you.

As First Nations people, our connection to the land runs deep. To see our homelands threatened by fire is heartbreaking, and to witness our communities uprooted is a reminder of how urgent it is to prepare, protect, and respond with the resources and unity our Nations deserve.

We lift up all the leadership working tirelessly to keep their people safe, and we stand with all those navigating the uncertainty and hardship these fires have brought. You are not alone. Treaty One is with you, in spirit, in solidarity, and in continued prayer.
