Simulators are only a tool .. How to use the tool needs to be the focus

Standard operating procedures (SOPs) are a proven safety tool in multi-crew operations, and the same benefits apply to single-pilot operations.

Yet commercial single-pilot operators are not required to have SOPs, increasing risk to pilots and passengers.

TSB recommendation A24-03 calls on Transport Canada to require private and commercial operators conducting single-pilot operations to develop SOPs based on corporate knowledge and industry best practices to support pilot decision-making.

Today we remember January 8, 1956.

On this day 70 years ago, five missionaries — Jim Elliot, Nate Saint, Ed McCully, Peter Fleming, and Roger Youderian — lost their lives in the jungles of Ecuador while seeking to share the love of Christ with the Waodani people.

Their deaths marked a moment of profound loss, but their legacy did not end there. What followed was a story of forgiveness, reconciliation, and lives transformed by the Gospel — a reminder that faithfulness can bear fruit far beyond what we can see.

As we remember them today, we honor not only their sacrifice, but the enduring impact their lives continue to have around the world.
