Hey! This guy looks familiar! Our very own VCMS faculty member, Imant Raminsh, is having his newly commissioned piece "Where Wildness Lives" performed at Cascade Peaks ChamberFest by the Chamber Vocal Ensemble and the Borealis String Quartet! Single concert tickets are still available for this Saturday, June 20th performance at RockRidge Canyon resort.

Composer celebrates natural wonders at Cascade Peaks ChamberFest — Stir The festival will include the premiere of Imant Raminsh’s Where Wildness Lives , a choral work dedicated to the artistic director’s late father

Come enjoy a matinee performance with the North Okanagan Valley Orchestra on May 31st at Trinity Unity Church, with special guest, VCMS violin student Akasha McCleary! Akasha will be performing "Summer" from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi. This is sure to be a great afternoon of music. Admission is by donation.

After a busy year of music learning and exploration, Music Explorers wraps up this week with Parent Sharing Day. Along with learning about musical concepts and theory through interactive games and movement, students also had the opportunity to try playing a number of different instruments. A highlight was having special guests visit the classes and perform for students and their families. Many of the Music Explorers will go on to take private music lessons in the fall. Music Explorers provides a good foundation for their future music learning and love of music.

We are currently accepting registrations for 2026/27 Music Explorers on Wednesday afternoons. This course is open to children 5-8 years old and will run from September to May. Contact the office to register or if you want more information!

Look at how great these group of cellist are! We are thrilled to have two double bass student musicians, using their skills in the Carriage House Orchestra. Gus and Mila are welcome additions to the Suzuki cello group, and we can't wait to watch these two grow and continue to enjoy playing the double bass! Great work, everyone!

The planning for one of our most favourite times of year is well underway! ¡Qué padre! Country Fair 2026 is coming up quickly, and this year's theme is....FIESTA! Think bright colours, cheerful music, spontaneous dancing and more! Join us on Friday, June 5th for the unforgettable excitement of the candy store, cake walk, mystery jars and more.

On Monday the Carriage House Orchestra with string players between the ages 4-14 earned gold for their performance of the Fiesta Medley at the Central Okanagan Performing Arts Festival in Kelowna.

During the adjudication students were reminded that it is important to use 3 parts of your body when playing with a group — your eyes, your ears and your lungs.
