A Pre-Kindergarten enrichment program for 3 to 5 year olds:
Program Offered Tuesday and Friday from 8:30 am to 12: 30 pm. Our program includes exploring hands on materials, sensory play and doing crafts. We encourage small group projects and games to build social skills . During circle time there is a focus on actions songs, carefully chosen stories (use of felt board/large print books), and musical instruments. Emphasis is placed on phonics, language concepts and building vocabulary. We have 45 minutes of gym time and outdoor play each day. Introduction to classroom routines, and opportunities for children to build attention and listening skills. To prepare children for kindergarten we aim to build strengths in these areas:
-pre-writing skills (coloring, tracing, drawing, copying shapes)
-pre-reading skills (learning letter sounds, books chosen with rhyme and repetitive patterns)
-fine motor skills (use of scissors, puzzles)
-gross motor skills (balance, ball skills)
