Wiggles and Giggles Daycare

Thank you to everyone who supported my daycare these last four years. I decided to close my daycare on Sept 30 so I can work in a daycare center now that my kids are older and look forward to new opportunities. Thank you to the families who allowed me to care for their children it was a huge honor, privilege and I loved it. Thank you for always being respectful, kind, and wonderful to work for. Happy belated Fathers Day, hope you enjoyed the day. We made some cute crafts for them.

on May 25 we released the butterflies. The kids enjoyed watching the butterflies grow and fly around the cage. All the kids got to hold a butterfly before they flew such a beautiful moment seeing a creature so fragile but bolding flying away. We had some that where not able to fly so the older kids that where there made a nest for them to live on and feed them oranges for days afterwards. Painted lady butterflies and we have since seen one return and many other butterflies fly through our yard. The kids always yell butterflies and chase after them.

For my 3rd post of the day. We now have five butterflies that have hatched out of their chrysalis and the kids are excited. We have been watching them drying their wings and they are beautiful. Painted Lady butterflies love doing this every year.

Caught on my backyard camera a bee mid flight so cool and hopefully its been enjoying the flowers and the flowers to come. In our garden beets, garlic, lettuce, spinach is growing great.

Last week the caterpillars formed their chrysalis, 28 out of 35 successfully did this then the waiting game started. I am so excited and the kids are very curious about the process. Logan remembers from last year and says that he can not wait.

My son was wanting to feed the bee so he got it some dandelions and then sat to watch the bee. We grow lots of flowers in the yard for bees and other pollinators including apple and pear blossoms, wildflowers, iris, dandelions (of course). I teach my sons and the daycare kids that bees are important to us and we need grow flowers for them in order to get yummy food. They are fascinated with them and love to watch them in the garden.

One of our neighbours had a swarm of bees in her yard and invited us to come look at them a few fridays ago. It was awesome to see and the kids enjoyed it. There was a main group but also many bees everywhere. I got close enough to get some great pictures and a video. Logan's class is learning about bees from Fulton high school students so I sent it to his class as well. They also enjoyed seeing the bees. Mark and I both love bees and plant many flowers for them and provide habitat in our backyard for them. Of course bees are very important for our lives, crops and balance of nature.

We got our butterflies this week. Now we get to watch them grow then release them. They are painted lady butterflies and we enjoyed watching them grow last year and successfully released 35 out of 37 last year. So hopefully we release lots this year too.

We have been growing some sprouts, checking out the new Canadian tire playground, doing some baking and drawings.

Christmas crafts that the kids helped make for their parents. Santa and reindeer so sparkly. Snowflakes and Christmas tree ornaments.

Hope everyone had a great Halloween. My husband Mark, the kids and I we got dressed up, decorated the inside and outside, made many Halloween crafts and danced to some spooky music.
