Hi Daycare Parents, wondering, would any of you have a set of bunk beds you have for sale or to give away? For a Daycare parent in need. See a teacher if you think you have one set you would like to part with. Thank you 😊

Dear Parents,

It’s again time that we have to remind people about our health and wellness policy. These are the things that will restrict children from coming into the center.

Undiagnosed rashes need to be seen by a doctor and they can return upon clearance from a doctor. That can be in the form of a note written by the doctor on a prescription pad. It doesn’t have to be anything formal, just giving us the clearance that nothing is communicable.

Fevers, persistent coughs, (clearing out coughs after illness is ok as coughs can remain for up to 3 and 4 weeks) runny nose, stomach pain, nausea, anything requiring a medication in the morning. In all of these instances, a child must remain out of the centre, they can return after 24 hours free of any symptoms.

It’s necessary for us to follow these guidelines number one, because they are licensing regulations and we are a licensed government facility.
Number two it’s because we care about the health and wellness of our children, their families and our staff.

Some children go home to parents that are having chemotherapy or are on medication’s to limit their immune system, (we have unfortunately had children attend on chemotherapy and have children on medications that lower their immune systems) some children have not had their immune system built up to the point where they can easily withstand communicable illnesses. And contrary to people’s belief, there are some children that will pass away from a flu. In the course of our last 12 years, we have had two children that have had to be resuscitated because bad cases of flu that have turned into pneumonia, etc so please follow our guidelines.

Anyone that is not following your guidelines repeatedly,is subject to dismissal.

We care about everyone in our centre, and we do take this very seriously. Not only are you subjecting other children to illnesses you are also subjecting people to losing their work hours as well when they need to stay home with their children, and also Daycare closures if staff become ill, as we must retain staff child ratio at all times so please be respectful of our guidelines.

Thank you for understanding.

Hello Parents, I feel I need to give an update to my post from the other day regarding illness, when a child has been ill and they have a cough quite often their cough will not clear for 2 to 3 weeks. That’s not the cough we’re talking about. It’s the early onset, persistent cough that first rears its ugly head that usually hits a child when they first become ill. Those are the coughs we’re worried about, if your child has been ill and they haven’t been able to shake their cough after all other symptoms have cleared don’t feel like you have to be out of the daycare, as long as it’s just a clearing out cough, they are welcome back. ļæ¼
Thank you so much to all of your parents who are diligent in this matter we appreciate you.ļæ¼
And good news our little that had to be admitted to hospital is on the mend, likely just his reaction to the flu. Great news!!!

Attention Parents it’s very important that you understand the reasoning behind keeping your child out of daycare when your child is sick.
Bugs are not the same as they used to be, some children don’t have the strong immune systems that other children have and the different viruses out there these days affect every child differently. Medicating a child and sending them to Daycare does not keep your child’s virus from spreading, medication does not kill the virus, they are still contagious. It’s very important that you keep your child home if your child needs to be medicated, not only for the benefit of others but if we were to find out that you have medicated your child and sent your child to Daycare anyway as stated in our written policy, it would be grounds for termination of your spot.
We have a child in the hospital at the moment struggling so please keep that child in your thoughts and prayers and please think of other others. We know you don’t want to miss your work but by you sending a sick child to daycare not only do you risk ļæ¼other people missing their work you can possibly cause Daycare closure should teachers become ill and risking serious illness in others.
Please think of others, thank you.

Parenting is beautiful, but it can also feel overwhelming and messy. It’s easy to get lost in the chaos.

Try to take it one day at a time, and remember how quickly this season will pass. Don’t let the busyness keep you from truly knowing your child.

Pause to listen to their wild stories. Offer the extra cuddle. Read the extra bedtime story.

One day, when they’ve grown and gone, your heart will ache for these moments—but if they felt seen and heard in childhood, you will always be their home.
