Remembering Dolly Parton 📚💛

Today, we remember Dolly Parton—not only for her incredible music and generous spirit, but for the lasting impact she made on literacy and children’s lives.

Through her Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Dolly helped put books into the hands of millions of children, inspiring a love of reading and giving families the opportunity to build literacy together.

Her belief that every child deserves the chance to grow up surrounded by books is a legacy that will continue for generations.

At the Literacy Society, we are grateful for the example Dolly set: that literacy can open doors, strengthen families, and change lives.

📚💛 Thank you, Dolly, for helping make the world a little more literate, one book at a time.

Her voice may be gone, but the stories she helped put into children’s hands will live on.

They've done the work.
They've written the story.
They've learned the lines.
They've practiced.
They've filmed.
They've made mistakes.
They've tried again.
