Notre journée de célébration des peuples autochtones a bien été aujourd’hui. Un moment très spécial et émouvant a été le cercle pour déguster notre bannock ensemble. Merci à chef Chantelle Eustache pour nous enseigner les protocols de festin, avoir fait le bannock et pour avoir fait la prière d’ouverture et la reconnaissance du territoire pour le festin communal avec l’école entière pour célébrer le solstice d’été.

Our indigenous celebration day went very well today, with the highlight being the very touching and moving school-wide feast circle. We were all able to have our bannock together as an entire school group. A huge thank you to chef Chantelle Eustache for teaching us feast protocols, providing the bannock and doing a land acknowledgment and opening prayer for our feast to celebrate the summer solstice.

Les 12e années de WL Seaton French Immersion Program sont venus faire une tournée de leur ancienne école élémentaire cette après midi! Les grads de VSS sont aussi venus ce matin. Félicitations, nous sommes fiers de vous!

The grade 12 grads from WL Seaton French Immersion Program came to do a walkthrough in their old elementary school today! VSS grads also came by this morning. Congratulations! We are very proud of you!

In grand merci au Président de l’Assemblée Législative provinciale, l’honorable Raj Chouhan et à notre députée provinciale Harwinder Sandhu, Vernon-Lumby MLA pour avoir fait une simulation de l’assemblée législative et un débat avec les 5e années. Quelle belle opportunité pour nos élèves! Ils ont fait un débat pour décider si les élèves devraient se faire payer pour aller à l’école. Avec un vote de 33-43, l’opposition a gagné et les élèves ne seront pas payées!

A huge thank you to the provincial Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, honorable Raj Chouhan and our MLA Harwinder Sandhu for coming to Beairsto to do a model legislative assembly with a debate. What a great opportunity for our students. The grade 5 students debated whether or not students should be paid to go to school. With a vote of 33-43, the opposition won and students remain unpaid.

Les 5e années ont eu une belle leçon au sujet de la sécurité en vélo; les signaux avec les mains pour avertir les conducteurs et comment lire les signes de la rue. Merci à Rachael Zubick pour un excellent rodéo de vélo!
