WHAT IS ESSENTRICS?

Essentrics is a full-body workout that brings back your strength, flexibility, and mobility.

We donโ€™t fight aging, we reverse what it does to your body. ๐Ÿงฌ

As we age, tissues stiffen and dry out. Gentle, targeted movement restores their elasticity, rehydrates fascia, and reactivates dormant muscles, helping you move the way you were designed to.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Most stiffness comes from imbalance, not age. Essentrics unlocks whatโ€™s been lost, so you can move freely and live pain-free.

You donโ€™t need a new body. You need to unlock the one you have.

Try it today with a 14-day free trial on Essentrics TV. ๐Ÿ“บ bit.ly/FreeTrialETV

The back is a fascinating and complex part of the human body, home to a network of muscles that play crucial roles in movement, stability, and posture. These muscles can be categorized into three groups based on their location: superficial back muscles, intermediate back muscles, and intrinsic (deep) back muscles.

๐Ÿ”ปThe superficial back muscles are located just beneath the skin and include the latissimus dorsi, trapezius, levator scapulae, and rhomboids. These muscles are primarily responsible for moving the upper limb, as they originate from the vertebral column and insert onto either the clavicle, scapula, or humerus.

Interesting fact: the latissimus dorsi, also known as the โ€œlats,โ€ are the largest muscles in the upper body and are crucial for movements like pulling and lifting.

๐Ÿ”ปThe intermediate back muscles, which include the serratus posterior superior and serratus posterior inferior, are primarily involved in elevating and depressing the rib cage. This action is vital for breathing.

๐Ÿ”ปThe intrinsic muscles are named for their embryological development in the back, contrasting with the extrinsic superficial and intermediate muscles that develop elsewhere. These intrinsic muscles are further subdivided into their own superficial, intermediate, and deep layers.

Interesting fact: the multifidus muscle, part of the deep intrinsic group, is one of the most important stabilizers of the spine. Itโ€™s often targeted in physical therapy exercises for back pain.

Understanding the muscles of the back helps us appreciate the complexity and functionality of this vital part of the body.

THE REAL REASON YOUโ€™RE FEELING STIFF โ€“ AND HOW TO FIX IT โœ…๏ธ

Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds & supports every muscle, nerve, & organ in the body. As a three-dimensional, fibrous network of specialized "stretchy" tissue, fascia varies in texture & thickness throughout the body. It forms our largest uninterrupted system, interlacing every inch of us from head to toe. Without this internal scaffolding, weโ€™d collapse into a heap!

Keeping fascia flexible & healthy is essential for youthful movement & preventing stiffness. Fast movements can prevent hydration from reaching deep layers of fascia, which is essential for loosening the entire body. Connective tissue needs slow, deliberate movements to stay hydrated & maintain flexibility. Just as squeezing a damp sponge ๐Ÿงฝ moves moisture from one place to another, the act of stretching pushes fascial liquid from areas where it may have congealed, dispersing the fluids, keeping the tissue moist & pliable, & refreshing other neglected areas of our connective tissue that donโ€™t have adequate hydration.

When fascia becomes dehydrated & stuck, it can make you feel stiff & sluggish. If we donโ€™t move enough for weeks or months, our fascia reshapes itself around our sedentary habits. Later, when we try to strengthen these areas, theyโ€™re limited by the tight, glued-down tissue.

Essentrics targets both superficial & deep tissues in the body to reshape & rejuvenate your fascia ๐ŸŒ€ Through the dynamic combination of our stretching & strengthening exercises, your fascia will stay flexible, hydrated, & healthy. These exercises gently tug on the connective tissue sheaths surrounding each muscle cell, helping to liberate interlocked cells. With as little as 23-minutes of focused stretching, you can release tight fascia, rehydrate tissues, & rebuild collagen fibers, restoring fluidity & bounce to your body.

Reshaping your fascia may take many months or even a year, but gentle daily Essentrics workouts will help release the glued-up connective tissue. Once unglued, your muscles will rapidly strengthen throughout your entire range of motion, & youโ€™ll be able to move freely again!

THE SECRET TO STRENGTHENING YOUR BONES ๐Ÿ’ชโ
โ
We have 210 bones in our body and theyโ€™re not the dry, rigid structures you might be imagining. Bones are living tissue that actively respond to the forces we place (or donโ€™t place) on them. Picture a healthy tree branch: strong, yet flexible, swaying gracefully with the wind. It only snaps or breaks when an unreasonable stress is placed on it. Unhealthy bones are similar to unhealthy branches, breaking easily. Your bones react to exercise in much the same way. Exercise leads to increased bone strength. Lack of exercise leads to bone weakness.โ
โ
Movement is essential to the development and maintenance of strong muscles and bones. Within our bodies is a honeycomb-like matrix that acts as a receptor to the minerals and crystals inside the walls of the bones. With osteoporosis, this matrix crumbles, so there is nowhere for the minerals and crystals to be deposited. They are flushed out of the bone and the bone becomes porous and soft. โ
โ
Large, full-body movements, like those found in Essentrics, use your body weight to effectively load and stress every bone. These sweeping motions pump blood into your bones, delivering those vital minerals and crystals. Once the honeycomb-like matrix is rebuilt, the crystals can be deposited into the receptors on the matrix, restoring bone density and strength. โ
โ
โœจ๏ธ Stressing your bones through daily exercise will keep your skeleton healthy, strong, and able to support you throughout your lifetime.
