Parents don’t own their children just like men don’t own their wives; they are humans with rights and freedoms which I sincerely hope the Canadian Charter of rights and freedoms will uphold against Danielle Smith’s ridiculous overreach! 😡 In Canada, a child can override their parents’ decision against getting a blood transfusion but in Alberta a youth under the age of 16 can’t decide what pronoun they want use?? This makes zero sense and makes an already vulnerable group even more vulnerable to harm and oppression!! Trans rights are human rights!!

Can we all agree in 2023 that humans are diverse and that every human deserves the right to safety? SOGI is not about teaching kids to change their gender or s*xuality, but it is about teaching kids that people outside of the cis, white heteronormative perspective exist. People who aren’t cis/hetero/white should not be persecuted, bullied or intimidated because they have the right to live free of judgement and harm. Canada has a charter of rights that upholds this and we are better than this ridiculous protest of misinformation. Show your allyship Wednesday September 20th to have meaningful discussions about SOGI. We don’t have to think the same, but I’m certain we can all agree everyone has the right to be free from harm.

What protects the innocence of a child? What is innocence? It is freedom of guilt or shame. So why would telling kids about in*******se and reproduction deprive them of their innocence?
