Our Grade 6B class had a great time exploring solids and liquids through some hands-on learning! Students investigated what happens when heat and friction are applied by making bannock and butter. It was a fun and delicious way to see science in action while learning how materials can change through physical processes. π§π₯π₯

Such a great day today starting with a visit from Fat Cat from the Vermilion Credit Union to help us celebrate the reading our VES students have been doing. It was a fun spirit day with sunglasses and headbands!
Then, it was one of our favourite days - Family Picnic Day! It was so wonderful to have so many families join us. Even the weather cooperated!

A big thank you to JR Robson School for hosting our Grade 6 students for orientation! Our students enjoyed getting a glimpse into the life of a Grade 7 student, exploring the school, learning about classes and activities, and meeting staff and student leaders. The warm welcome helped ease some of the excitement and nervousness about the transition to junior high. We appreciate the time and effort that went into making the day informative, engaging, and memorable for our students.

A sincere thank you to the Town of Vermilion for welcoming our Grade 6 students and providing an engaging learning experience about local government! Students had the opportunity to learn how municipal governments operate, how bylaws are created and passed, and how local decisions help shape our community. We appreciate the time and effort taken to make this real-world learning experience both educational and memorable. Thank you for helping our students become informed and active citizens! ποΈ
