What’s going on in the industry? 🤔

It may seem like pop superstar blew up overnight, but this is far from the truth. 👇

🎵Here’s the brief timeline of her meteoric rise to fame:

• 2014: Releases her first EP at the age of 16, posts content to YouTube

• 2015: Signs to Atlantic Records

• 2015-2020: Supports large touring acts like Vance Joy and Declan McKenna, but fails to gain traction

• 2020: Dropped by Atlantic due to “lack of profitability” during Covid

• 2020: Moves home to Missouri and works a drive-thru window at a donut shop

• 2021: Starts releasing covers and originals on TikTok and quickly gains attention

• 2022: Supports Olivia Rodrigo on tour and signs with Sony Publishing and Amusement Records

• 2023: Starts headlining her own shows in New York and LA, and embarks on her first headlining tour (every date sells out)

• 2024: Releases “Good Luck, Babe” (826M streams) and delivers memorizing performances to record crowds at Coachella, Governor’s Ball, and Lollapalooza

On This Day in 1970: Janis Joplin passes away at the height of her stardom at the age of 27 (joining the famed “27 Club”).

Known as one of the most iconic and successful rock performers of her era, Joplin was known for her electric live performances and series of hit songs, “Piece of My Heart”, “Me and Bobby McGee”, “Cry Baby”, and “Mercedez Benz”. 🎵

On This Day in 1970: Newly formed Queen plays their first ever concert at Truro City Hall in Cornwall, England.

A short 5 years later, they would release “Bohemian Rhapsody” and by 1985, 350,000 fans would flood into Rio for the band’s biggest concert ever 🤘
