Had an open house workout/spar today with food and drinks to celebrate our our students training hard over the last 6 weeks and anyone who was able to stop by!
Proud of our Sunday crew that came by and our more beginner students stepping out of their comfort zone to learn boxing at a greater depth. A lot of our participants didn't want any business with contact but by pushing themselves over the last several weeks training, I was happy to see a lot of them develop the confidence to stop by regardless of their experience or apprehension, even just to taste some contact in the form of just offense with someone more experienced.. or really controlled exchanges for those inexperienced working together. Boxing isn't viewed as a sport for anyone but thats a view that's easily dispelled once you know what you want out of it and actually give it a fair shot with the right coaches and instructors behind you.
A curiosity can quickly develop in to passion.
A big shoutout to our more experienced students that made it in and for helping our newbies out for this open event! Grateful for such an amazing group of students that we can come train everyday.
Getting better is a process. You don't come in as a finished product so you shouldn't feel like starting a fitness or martial art journey is something you prepare for. When we think of "perfect" we begin to get paralyzed with fear, criticism (self critique), and cripple ourselves out of action.
If you think to the people that are closest to you, they don't love what you accomplish or have done for them. They just accept you for you with all your flaws and your acceptance of them all the same. We need to apply the same logic and care for ourselves in order to move in the right direction whether here or in life. Leave your ego at the door for anything you show up for. It ain't that serious. Stop giving such a f*ck and jump in! See y'all soon!

Happy Monday y'all! Another week to go and get it.
The best way to get to where you want to go is to surround yourself with the right people. Being in the right community.
Get inspiration and learn from people ahead of you. Work hard with people beside you and help those that are behind you.
That's what makes a community great. Come through and lets crush!

Systems.
Starting the week right — power or no power.
A neighborhood outage isn’t stopping our 6:45am crew from attaining their goals.
Which brings me to something most people don’t talk about enough…
Systems.
Everyone talks about motivation.
Discipline.
Willpower.
But your results — and your entire life — are built on systems.
Whether you realize it or not, systems are already governing you.
They can build you.
Or they can slowly break you.
Once you truly understand this, life gets simpler.
You either get it — and change your systems now.
Or you don’t — and you repeat the same cycle of frustration, “starting Monday,” net-zero progress, and quiet disappointment.
Nobody needs motivation to brush their teeth.
Nobody needs discipline to shower.
Nobody needs willpower to use the washroom when they wake up.
Why?
Because it’s a system.
You wake up → bathroom → downstairs → breakfast.
System.
You get to work → punch in → drop your jacket → sit at your desk.
System.
You get home → hang your keys → start cooking.
System.
You start work at 8am → coffee and muffin at 9am → cigarette at 10am → emails at 10:15.
Also a system. (Just not one that serves you.)
Here’s the truth:
If training still feels like a daily debate in your head…
You don’t need more motivation.
You need a better system.
Here’s the simplest one I give every coaching client struggling to build consistency:
1️⃣ Pick a time you ideally want to train.
2️⃣ Do a non-negotiable 5 minutes. Any movement.
3️⃣ You can go longer — but you cannot go shorter
4️⃣ Repeat for 30 days.
That’s it.
Five minutes is too small to argue with.
Too small to procrastinate.
Too small to fail.
And you’ll be shocked how often 5 turns into 20… 30… a full session.
That’s how habits are built.
Not through hype.
Not through quotes.
Through structure.
At HiitBox, we don’t rely on motivation.
We build systems.
You book your class.
You show up at the same time.
You train with the same crew.
You get coached.
You leave better than you came in.
That’s why the lights going out doesn’t stop us.
Because when the system is strong, the excuses don’t matter.
Shoutout to Nel — always showing up ready to improve and bringing 100% focus.
This clip was 2 months ago. We were dialing in foot-to-hip connection on his rear hand. Small adjustments. Big difference.
You maintain your car.
You maintain your house.
You maintain your business.
But most people neglect the one tool that runs all of it — themselves.
We don’t train to escape life.
We train to handle it better.
Every round builds:
Focus under pressure.
Discipline when tired.
Control when stressed.
Resilience when things get heavy.
That doesn’t stay in the gym.
It carries into business.
Into parenting.
Into leadership.
Training isn’t stepping away from responsibility.
It’s reinforcing it.
Nothing more satisfying than seeing students locked in to the task at hand. We live such busy and chaotic lives outside where we do things without even thinking (like when you're zoned out driving and all of a sudden you reach your destination without even remembering how you got there), we become disconnected from ourselves and the world around us. That's also when you slowly start to see the glass as half empty.
We've been emphasizing putting intent in to our work on the daily within the studio which is going to help learn skill faster, help you develop strength while minimizing injury... but also re-develop a relationship between your own mind and body on a physical level.. One day at a time fam💪🏾
