The nanophotonics group at INRS-EMT, is dedicated to nanoscale oxide electronics

Our investigations are based on advanced scanning probe techniques in combination with optical spectroscopy. Hysteretic properties of oxide electronics (ferroelectric, resistive and magnetic) have a huge potential for non-volatile memory applications. The emphasis of our research is on the physical understanding of these properties and their coupling with the aim to explore and exploit the full po

Update from our team: Amira Becheikh successfully completed her MSc and joined our team as PhD student under the co-supervision of Prof. Latifa Bergaoui from INSAT, Tunis. Nils Dietrich joined our group as PhD student after the successful completion of his MSc double degree with Munich University of Applied Sciences. We are delighted to have Lucie Dewyspelaere with us as part of her double degree PhD with Toulon University under the supervision of Prof. Alexandre Merlen. And, last but not least, Dr. David Barba joined us a research associate to reinforce all aspects of the team from research to collaborations.

Raman spectroscopy investigation of magnesium oxide nanoparticles 07/11/2024

Congratulations to Dr. Maria Dekermenjian. She received the outstanding student publication award from RSC Advances in the category Physical Chemistry. This is a beautiful example of collaboration with Prof. Alexandre Merlen from Toulon, who co-supervised Maria.

Raman spectroscopy investigation of magnesium oxide nanoparticles We investigate Raman spectra (100 cm−1 to 3900 cm−1) of magnesium oxide nanoparticles with nominal sizes of 10 nm, 20 nm, 40 nm, 50 nm, and 300 nm. The crystal structure of MgO prohibits first-order modes and yet, there are numerous reports of relatively intense peaks throughout the literature. ...
