It's Red Dress Day: Today we acknowledge our National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirited People (MMIWG2S+). The red dress symbolizes the loss, the resilience, and the fight for justice. Wearing red brings visibility, shows our commitment to learning, understanding, and reconciliation. ❤️
Red Dress Day 2026
This important day, held every May 5th, is a National Day of remembrance and activism honouring the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirited People (MMIWG2S+).
It began with the REDress Project, created by Métis artist Jaime Black in 2010. On this day, red dresses will be draped in trees, hanging from windows, pinned to jackets, worn as earrings and red hands painted across faces. Community rallies and ceremonies to honour their loved ones will be held across Canada, raising awareness and calling for justice.

Our school could not run without all the hard work our Principals put in every day! Happy National Principals' day to all Principals, but especially to our FAVORITE ones here at EBUS! 😎
National Principals’ Day, observed each year on May 1, is an opportunity to recognize the important work of Principals and Vice-Principals and the commitment they bring to their roles. It is a time to acknowledge the leadership and dedication required to guide schools and support learning communities.
Principals consistently work behind the scenes, most days extending well beyond regular work hours, to foster schools that are safe, welcoming, and inclusive. Their leadership helps create environments where students feel supported, staff feel valued, and learning and personal growth can thrive. School leaders play a key role in the success and well-being of entire school communities.
We want to acknowledge and thank all our Principals and Vice Principals for their continued work on behalf of staff, students, families, and the broader community.
