University Canada West students and alumni took part in HR Day 2026.

Inside the Fishbowl: Bold Conversations on the Future of People & Work tackled six candid rounds of questions covering the future of work, AI, performance rewards, burnout, inclusion and the ultimate HR dilemma.

Rather than a traditional panel, the event used an interactive Fishbowl Method. This format put student voices at the centre of the room, using a rotating empty chair to keep fresh perspectives flowing.

The engaging event brought together leaders, faculty and students committed to driving meaningful dialogue about the future of workplace management.

A special thank you goes out to our distinguished guest speakers for sharing their industry expertise: Peter Choi (HR and Change Management Leader), Kemi Bankole (Career Coach & HR Leader, UCW Alumna) and Innah Cruz Strategic HR Professional, UCW Alumna).

From resilience and determination to community impact.

As the Founder and Executive Director of Indigenous Project Events, Natasha Delany pursued an MBA at University Canada West to strengthen her leadership skills, expand her business knowledge and build a stronger foundation for her growing organization. Balancing entrepreneurship, motherhood and academic pursuits, Natasha was determined to create meaningful opportunities for Indigenous communities across Canada.

During her time at UCW, Natasha developed the strategic thinking, confidence and leadership skills needed to grow her vision into reality. The MBA program helped her build stronger systems, plan for long-term growth and approach challenges with a broader perspective.

"I'm proud that my education helped support a business that creates space for Indigenous voices, stories, teachings and leadership to be shared across Canada."

Today, Natasha continues to expand Indigenous Project Events, providing Indigenous education, cultural programming, event planning and leadership development services to organizations, schools, communities and businesses across the country. She proudly carries forward the knowledge, experiences and connections she gained as a UCW alumna.

A proud milestone for UCW on the global stage.

Dr. Amit Kohli, Dr. Aia Shilibekova and Dr. Bruce Hiebert recently took part in a teaching and research exchange at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), one of Hungary's most prestigious institutions, through the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Program. The exchange was initiated and led by Dr. Kohli and marked UCW's first-ever Erasmus+-funded project with a European Union partner institution.

The exchange provided opportunities to share expertise, engage in collaborative research and build stronger academic connections with international partners. Their participation reflects the high calibre of scholarship, teaching and leadership that continues to elevate UCW's academic profile around the world.

This achievement underscores UCW's dedication to fostering international partnerships that enrich learning, research and innovation.

Congratulations to Dr. Kohli, Dr. Shilibekova and Dr. Hiebert on representing UCW with distinction.
