We use predominantly recycled materials in class. In case you were wondering ~ always non toxic, always thoughtful and appropriate for the ages present in my learning studio. We tried our hand at Korean style paper art. And goodness, they were so gorgeous once dried. thank you for capturing little peekaboo moments . I love it when the phones are really not out. And we can truly be together ~ miss you already ✨🖤🤍 NEW SESSIONS BEGIN MONDAY 🌞 still a few spots here and there 🫶🏾

I was asked to come and see the garden they planted. ‘M’: “The water moves through here.” M: Points fingers “and it makes the plants and trees grow tall. And the rest of the garden goes around here.
~I’m reminded how rich expressive language is becoming even as young as age 3 or 4. It has been lovely to say the least to be in community with this age range right now. I’d love to have some class focus for this age 3,4,5 and wonder if you’d like a full morning program? drop off style. Tell me if the poll.

A complete stranger walked into the studio recently. We chatted. I was tired. Exhausted even. Yet, I was called to talk and share. The same question that usually comes up, came up. “what is this place?” ☺️🤌🏾 we ended up speaking about creative process for a long while. We really began to relate and listen to each other. It was beautiful and I was so happy I had the bandwidth to listen and get to know this complete stranger. Any other day, It may not have worked out. I love people. I feel proud of that too. On the way out he said “this place is ALL HEART eh!?” i smiled and said “you get it-yes!” I love this place because of you all….🤍🥹 May/June session registration is open my lovelies✨ can’t wait to see new friends soon!

Giving children the chance to learn to play with new things in new spaces is so valuable. Open-ended play with blocks, toys, vessels and so on is characterized by its lack predetermined outcomes. Specific to play-based models in early years education this is when we see true imagination, a child’s innate ability to create and explore on their terms. When you arrive at Chorus you’ll often see, a small inspiration set up with a basket, box or bag of other things related to that set up. We have approached toys and play things this way since the beginning. Because it’s where we see the most powerful moments of connection happen. Between caregiver and child and children independently. Sometimes I can see caregivers are unsure how to play with said materials. And you will always hear me say-“..go sit with the toys and your child….you’ll see it’ll come to you…”☺️this is what children do too on their own. It’s really is beautiful and the type of open ended play holds overall benefits like the following: cognitive development (critical thinking, language development, problem solving) Social-Emotional benefits: collaboration and teamwork, patience building moments, confidence and independence, and self-regulation). Hot tip: before your child wakes in the morning, have a little set up waiting for them before they wake. They will likely be drawn to the beauty of this novel set up you’ve begun, then play with them for a little…and then at the right time maybe a few days later you can see them flourish independently. Or just come to classes and watch it happen and borrow some toys from our lending library if you need a little nudge in creativity and some new novel play materials.

Among the many things I’ll never forget today are: receiving a loaf of bread made for me, a surprise visit from dear friends, home made 10 year cookies, friends sweeping, friends bonking their heads on the Chorus sign, being offered all dressed chips every 2 minutes during my performance, being asked how my mom passed away by a 3 year in the crowd of 200 people and answering truthfully but sensitively, holding baby James, playing new songs alongside unbelievable music makers, hearing people pump up the fact that I survived the toughest of times as a business owner AND someone telling me I was glowing on stage. It’s because I WAS. I was more glimmering folks. To tell you honestly how I feel is to feel confidence that my business is thriving. It’s not just me and my songs, it’s the space, the place and the very deep sense of love that begins when hearts open and we attach to each other. My music space thrives not because of the “class”. There are plenty of classes out there. And good ones. It’s the magic and intangible that exists and happens between us. You tell me, when you hug me and look into my eyes and share a part of yourself with me. I’m profoundly honored ✨ 10 YEARS ✨cheers to 10 MORE🥹🤟🏾🤍✨☀️🖤
