We at Spectrum Ability are united in grief and shockover the events of last night at Vancouver’s Lapu Lapu Day celebration.

This occurred in a neighbourhood that we have proudly served in the past. As a fellow South Vancouver-based business, these are our friends, our community, and our neighbours. This is home.

At this time, we offer sympathies and condolences to everyone involved, especially the Filipino community, during this incredibly difficult time. We would also like to express our gratitude and thanks to the first responders who were there to help where they could, selflessly and bravely. You represent the best of Vancouver.

Opinion: Lazy folks left it to the rain to clear Burnaby snow 01/21/2020

Accessibility means nothing if it is not maintained. During the recent snowfall in the Vancouver area, this was an unfortunate trend – uncleared sidewalks, paths, curbs, and even worse, plowed snow dumped on to accessible parking spots!

This leaves people with mobility issues essentially stranded.

This is why it is so important to not just salt your sidewalks and pathways, but to actually do some shoveling!

Opinion: Lazy folks left it to the rain to clear Burnaby snow This column has some pretty sad photos attached to it. Take the one above showing an elderly man in Burnaby struggling his way through a sidewalk that had not been cleared on Sunday afternoon. . . .
