There’s something powerful about learning in a space where your work, your community, and your experiences are understood. Tomorrow is the last day to sign up!
The IPH Program brings together Indigenous learners, professionals, and community members who are all working—each in their own way—toward stronger health outcomes.
Through shared learning and discussion, participants build not only knowledge, but meaningful connections that continue beyond the program.
📅 August 17–21
📅 Deadline: May 31

Past participants have described the IPH Program as a space to step back, reflect, and reconnect with the “why” behind their work in Indigenous health.
That time to pause and learn can be just as important as the work itself.
📅 Applications close May 31
📅 Program runs August 17–21

Go grey in May!
May is Brain Tumour Awareness Month and here at the Centre we're highlighting the work being done by Dr. Melissa Perreault, Professor of Neuroscience and Research Leadership Chair at the University of Guelph, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, and member of the Metis Nation. Dr. Perreault advocates for appropriate research approaches with Indigenous communities and the integration of Indigenous knowledge and ways of doing into Euro-Western neuroscience.

In many communities, public health work doesn’t happen in isolation—it’s shaped by relationships, history, and a deep understanding of community needs. Last week to sign up!
The Indigenous Public Health Training (IPH) Program at UBC creates space for that kind of learning. Over one week, participants come together to explore Indigenous health research ethics and the social determinants of health in ways that are grounded, practical, and relevant.
This is an opportunity to step into a learning environment that values both knowledge and lived experience.
