Recap highlights! 🔥
It’s always a pleasure bringing Dancehall culture and dance into different spaces. Especially when it’s the first time students get to experience not just the dance, but the true intention behind it all freedom, connection, energy, and having fun together.
During this cultural workshop at we shared movement, history, community, and pure enjoyment through Dancehall culture. One of the reasons we love working with programs like this is because the students are always so open and willing to learn. As upcoming dance artists, having the mindset to listen, grow, and understand culture beyond the movement is powerful to witness.

What a powerful weekend in Montreal! 🇯🇲🇨🇦
Our Artistic Director brought the spirit and culture of Dancehall and the energy in the room was something special. Moments like this remind us that dance is more than movement. It is connection, history, and community.
This weekend also marks the beginning of something new.
We are proud to introduce Where We Meet, a new collective and initiative created by , , and .
Where We Meet is about creating spaces where people come together through culture, music, and movement. A place where communities connect, where we share knowledge, exchange energy, and celebrate our love for dance.
It is about peeling back the layers of traditional spaces and reimagining them.
Shifting the energy, honoring culture, and decolonizing the way we gather, learn, and move together. This is only the beginning.
We cannot wait to share what is coming next.

Message from our Artistic Director, Mikhail:
I want to thank each and every person who came out and supported our Move for Jamaica Dancehall Party Grooves Fundraiser. Jamaica is my home, and it’s devastating to see what our people are going through after Hurricane Melissa. So many families have lost their homes, their stability, and the spaces that once held their memories. Seeing the Vancouver community show up with so much love, unity, and generosity truly touched my heart.
We literally moved for Jamaica 🇯🇲
A small island that has given the world, and all of us, so much culture, strength, and energy. When Jamaica needs help, it means everything to see this community stand with us. This fundraiser was a huge success, and every donation is going directly to families rebuilding and recovering.
The vibe in the room, the connection, the respect for the culture it reminded me why community matters so deeply. Jamaica, we stand with you always. We will continue to take action and give back everything earned to support those in need.
Special shout outs:
for donating the space and making this event possible
for bringing the music, energy and pushing the culture forward
for always showing support
demmm for collaborating with us and helping create this moment
Thank you to everyone who donated and showed up. This was a truly beautiful community effort, and we are deeply grateful for every single one of you.
Community is powerful. Culture is powerful. Jamaica to di world ❤️💛💚

Join us for a Fundraising Dancehall Party Grooves Workshop led by our Artistic Director , with vibes provided by DJ Real and DJ Hoppa, where 100% of the proceeds will go directly to support relief efforts in Jamaica.
Let’s dance for a purpose. Let’s give back to the culture that has given us so much. 🇯🇲
