When smoke levels are high, take steps to protect your health and reduce your exposure:

1️⃣ Spend time in cleaner indoor air. If possible, take breaks in places with cleaner air.

2️⃣ Reduce indoor smoke. If it's not too hot, keep doors and windows closed. Avoid activities that can increase indoor air pollution, such as frying foods, vacuuming or smoking. If you have one, use a portable or homemade air cleaner to help filter indoor air. If your home is too smoky or too hot, spend time at a library or community centre.

3️⃣ Watch for symptoms. Wildfire smoke can affect everyone, but some people may experience more severe health effects than others. Seek medical care if you experience severe symptoms.

Human trafficking is a serious violation of human rights that continues to affect individuals, families, and communities across Canada and around the world. Today, we recognize the strength of victims and survivors and reaffirm the importance of collective action to prevent this crime and support those impacted.

To help strengthen Canada’s response to human trafficking, the Government advanced new laws to enhance protections for victims and survivors and increase accountability for offenders.
