Interesting new development for writers seeking an agent!

Hello,
I am Leo.
I am looking for a voice actor who will record a voice for a small project I am working on. Please feel free to text me via Messenger to have the conversation going. The video ad is 1.5 minutes long. Women voice actors preferred.
Such project would look great on your portfolio/resume.

Thank you,
Leo
Hello all my friends.
I'm looking for two people for an animation study in Vancouver. I have to introduce three people who are educated and experienced in this field to the government for an interview to study animation. I can send the form and you have to answer the questions for this study and position as an animator and email to me. After that I have to send this form with my application to the Government and Work B.C as well. Please help me if you can. By the way, I have already studied as a filmmaker (Director) and I am familiar with animation. Thank you so much.
Is there a recent graduate or alumni from the Acting for Film and TV program that will connect with me through messenger? I have some questions about your experience taking the course 🎭
Le disigne est tout un ensemble de traitement en vu d'avoir le sujet utile
I am a student at Columbia College Chicago forming a screenwriter's group for people studying screenwriting or a related subject at a college or university.

Each group member will write a short script and share it (via Zoom) every two weeks or so.

We will do script readings all together or in breakout rooms, depending on how big the group is.

After each reading, we will discuss the script and offer verbal feedback.

There will be a private forum where everyone can upload the latest versions of their scripts. All other members will be able to read them and post their constructive criticism.

Although the group will get everyone writing short scripts every two weeks or so, some may be working on feature length material or tv pilots, etc. My hope is that the group will connect people and foster collaboration beyond the scope of what the group encourages/requires.

We could have a writing prompt, genre, or topic each session, but this is meant to get juices flowing, not to stifle creativity; people could write whatever they want as long as it isn't too long – maybe 15 pages maximum.

All academic levels and skill levels are welcome, provided members do their best to contribute material and feedback to the group regularly.

Please email me at [email protected] if you are interested, and I will send you an invitation to the Slack group I started to discuss how to get this up and running.

NOTICE: this is my first recruitment effort. This is the ground floor. Right now, we will mostly be discussing release forms, recruitment, paying for the extended Zoom conferences and forum space, a code of conduct, diversity, logistics, and organizational structure. Then, we'll get to the fun stuff!

I hope to find other screenwriters here who are eager to take advantage of the time we have at home to collaborate across boundaries and refine our craft.

Hi,

My name is Adam Chadwick. I am a writer and director from the US who has recently started a film production company (based in Europe), for
co-productions between North America and European countries (primarily).

My partner and I are at the beginning stages of getting our company off the ground - meaning: finding skilled producers to join us in developing it further.
Our mission is making short and feature length films. Both narrative and documentary. At this time we are reaching out to alumni, graduates, or, soon-to-be graduates of film schools and film/television training centers, who's aim is solely on the producing end of the film making process (ie. not on screenwriting, directing, acting, etc), but rather 100% on becoming a professional film producer.

Our goal is to be able to connect with skilled, emerging producers who are looking for long-term collaborations in
order to produce a broad range of film projects with my partner and I. From scripted narrative material to original documentaries.

We are aiming to find the right individual(s) who want to help build our company from the ground up with us. They would be co-founders.They would work with us in securing financing for each of our films and follow through with the entire production process from development to release.

If you happen to know individuals who fit this description, or have announcement boards for such roles, we would greatly appreciate your assistance in helping us connect with these individuals.

Over the years, our students have had the incredible opportunity to meet some of the biggest names in the industry, from Kevin Smith (Clerks) to Lino DiSalvo (Frozen), Scott Mosier (The Grinch), Gigi Saul Guerrero (El Gigante), and John Musker (Aladdin, Moana).

Pretty Boy Run character design by Sam Chang ✍️

For Sam’s character design assignment, he was inspired mainly by the new Cyberpunk: Edgerunners animation by Studio Trigger, as well as fashion brands such as Mugler and Valentino.

”VFS’s character design class has been a great opportunity for me to flesh out my skill and learn the rules of animation-ready designs that are not overly detailed yet still manage to convey the character’s personality and role in the story.”

Tarun Keram shares what his experience was like working as an Actor on Netflix’s Original Series Virgin River.

”Working on Virgin River was an amazing experience. The Netflix writers had messaged us asking if they could use my last name for the character and I couldn't say no. It was the first time my last name had appeared on any visual medium.

We’re thrilled to announce that Amy, Joel and Ashlyn have been hired on at BioWare!

These three Game Design Alumni's share a little bit about what it takes to shape your success and land your dream role in the gaming industry.

VFS Game Design is an adventure unrivaled by anything I’ve experienced. It is a forge designed to shape and temper excellence and an opportunity to learn industry skills with the support and resources needed for success. I made amazing industry connections, worked harder than I ever had before, and networked across multiple major studios. VFS inspired me to aim for and achieve my dream studio, BioWare, less than a year after graduating! Without the support, knowledge, advice, and stalwart championship of the many people at VFS, I wouldn’t be where I am today. - Amy West

Passion and perseverance are not enough sometimes. You need help from industry people who have been through it. VFS instructors gave me the tools to be successful including professional and personal connections that will last a lifetime. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for VFS. - Joel Ponzio

VFS was an incredible way to jumpstart my career in game development. The courses are great in preparing you for creative and technical demands of the game industry. My success comes from VFS' hands-on real life examples and it's clear the staff are really passionate about what they do and want only the best for their students. - Ashlyn Ropers-Huilman

Animation students with an Acting alum, Ebba Jonsson, getting her first day in performance capture. This shoot was part of an Animation project led by Instructor Arthur, 3D Animation & Visual Effects and Senior Instructor, Charles for Embodied Process Acting for Film and Television supported as a Movement Coach!

“Working with Beyond capture for Mocap project was a very interesting experience. I saw the amount of passion and work that goes into recording a scene.

The actors in their suits go through a series of preparations to embody the character they are playing. I saw how one robot (the lead character in our scene) could have so many personalities.

It is a place for creativity at its best. Using props and markers to see what isn’t actually present while the live screen shows us how the shot would look in real time blew my mind. I could see how every person’s role there was so important in painting the whole picture.

I thank our instructor Arthur for making this project possible. He channelled us towards the possible use of Mocap for the project (ours is the first class to be able to do that) and orchestrated the entire venture beautifully.

I am looking forward to going through this experience again. So much fun, I loved it!” - Divya “Sparrow” Shetty, 3D Animation Student

Joshua Thil reflecting on his journey at VFS!

"Exactly one year ago I arrived here in Vancouver to study the craft of a writer for film, TV and games. I would never have guessed that I would leave this school with not only a bunch of scripts, ideas and knowledge, but also with a short film that I've written and produced during my year here.

It's been a real pleasure to produce with my classmates "Elo & Flo" who believed in my story as much as I did. Film is an art that is created, shared and enjoyed together and collaborating with creative students from the other VFS programs (film production, make up design, sound design, acting & alumni) was such an enriching experience and so much fun!

Now, 3 months after wrapping production, we are so happy to announce our selection at the Student World Impact Film Festival and continue the festival run of "Elo & Flo" after our international premiere at the Love & Hope International Film Festival in Barcelona."

Congrats Josh! We are so happy for you and all your success with Elo & Flo!
