"Wait, that's a thing?"

It's not until you move to a new that you realise things you take for granted are elsewhere. Whether it's turning up at guest's home at the stated time ("oh, just come by at eight .."), taking off your shoes at a friend's house, or giving new acquaintances a kiss on the cheeks, just remember the phrase "When in Rome, do as the Romans do".

Shout-out to our members who moved up a level - for performing new duties, for earning new speaking skills, and for improving their for the big Division competition... we have seen so much this spring. Want to improve too? We love new faces!

Family and Food. These go together so well, especially over . So naturally, that was the theme olat out Earth Aware Toastmasters meet this week.

We heard about people's all-time favourite dishes, the single food item that needs to disappear PRONTO, and - speaking of Italian - what one can learn about themselves at an Italian wedding (watch out for the candles and hairspray, by the way).

Our Hallowe'en meetings continue for October, and some of us didn't get the memo on costumes!

Our Table Topics impromptu speeches really went to another level, as we fought it out in team games and competed over who could best howl like a wolf, dance with the most embarrassing moves, and steal the most points.

Afterwards we had our monthly social while everybody watched the Toronto Blue Jays and the LA Dodgers fight it out...Come On Canada!

When you have a of the calibre of you have to pay attention and take notes.
Days away from recording her at on , she still found time to coach our avid speakers on how to insert some into their talks, her writing process, and some neat that any successful can make use of.
