We're so excited to announce that Emerging Media Lab and Assistant Professor Dr. Patrick Pennefather have been awarded the 2023 CUCCIO Collaboration Award! 🎉

A prestigious award that recognizes outstanding contributions made by Canadian universities and their IT departments in fostering collaboration and driving innovation.

For the past year, collaborated with a UBC Arts-based faculty in residence in the creation of a project-based learning (PjBL) course. The newly adapted MDIA 470 continues its focus on emerging technology development. The purpose of the co-development of the course is to train students on proof-of-concept projects by learning to prototype using Agile project management methodologies.

After the course completion, some of the projects are further developed into minimum viable products with a lead faculty for research funding or implementation of technology.
