UBC ASCE is the student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers at the University of British Columbia.

Student memberships are free through the ASCE website! UBC ASCE provides professional development opportunities for UBC engineering students. Our event topics include industry member presentations, professional licensure, and software tutorials. We also support UBC Concrete Canoe in attending ASCE competitions, and will be hosting the ASCE Pacific Northwest Student Conference at UBC in 2022!

The Mead Paper Competition is officially coming up! This competition challenges students to write a short paper on an engineering ethics topic and deliver a 5-minute presentation at the Student Symposium. Itโ€™s a great chance to build your writing, public speaking, and leadership skills, while representing UBC on a bigger stage.

On November 5, 1852, twelve esteemed engineers gathered at New York Cityโ€˜s Croton Aqueduct to establish what we now know as the American Society of Civil Engineers. Today, we honor their legacy and the history we continue to build together!
