Day 2 with the OYEP Rangers was all about getting our hands dirty! 🌊✨
The Rangers learned the art of gold panning with Yukon Dan before putting their newly acquired skills to the test in the Fraser River. Along the way, they discovered how prospectors search for placer gold while exploring the rich geology and history of one of British Columbia’s most iconic waterways. A day filled with hands on learning, teamwork, and unforgettable outdoor experiences! 🥇⛏️

We’ve got some exciting updates! 🎉
After a successful school year, our team recently returned from a well deserved team building retreat in Whistler. It was a great opportunity to reconnect, recharge, and celebrate all that we accomplished together.
We also have another exciting milestone to share. We’ve moved! 📦
As we settle into our new office, we’re excited to break new ground and get ready to rock another school year. Here’s to new beginnings, new discoveries, and inspiring the next generation of geoscientists. 👩🔬👷♀️

👏 A huge thank you to our amazing Geoscientist in the Classroom volunteer, Lars, for helping us wrap up the school year on such a high note!
Last week, Lars visited 4 classrooms across 3 schools, sharing his passion for geoscience and inspiring students through hands-on learning and real world experiences. From exploring earth science concepts to helping students prepare for their own geologic field season, his enthusiasm and expertise made a lasting impact.
Thank you, Lars, for encouraging the next generation of geoscientists before they head off to enjoy a well deserved summer break! 🌎⛏️☀️

For the second consecutive year, our Executive Director, Jason Courneyea, returned to Morgan Elementary with a fresh dose of geology inspiration! With 107 students eager to join this time, one classroom just wouldn’t cut it… so the gym became our geology HQ. 😎

Breaking ground. Breaking barriers ⛏️✨
This International Day of Women in Mining, we celebrate the women driving innovation, leadership, and change across the mining and minerals sector.
At MineralsEd, we're proud to inspire the next generation to discover careers in mining, geoscience, and STEM, because talent is our most valuable resource.
Happy International Day of Women in Mining! ❤️🧡💙

Inspiring the next generation of geoscientists! 🌎⛏️
Today, our Executive Director, Jason Courneyea, had the opportunity to visit École Panorama through our Geoscientists in the Classroom program, sharing what it’s like to work as an exploration geologist and helping students discover the exciting world of earth sciences.
The highlight? Learning that exploration geologists often travel to remote field sites by helicopter. 🚁 Now that’s one way to get students excited about a career in geoscience!

We asked secondary students what stood out to them at AME Roundup and CIM and their responses were incredible.
They talked about the technology, the people, the hands on learning, and the excitement of discovering careers they didn’t even know existed.
This is why exposure matters. When students meet real professionals, see real projects, and hear real stories, the mining industry becomes more than an idea, it becomes a future they can imagine themselves in.
BC’s next generation is curious, capable, and ready to lead. Our job is to keep opening doors.🚪
From classrooms to fieldtrips, BC’s mining future starts with today’s learners 🌱
This Mining Month showed what’s possible when industry, educators, and communities come together.
Thank you to everyone who helped inspire the next generation of BC’s mining leaders. 💙🧡❤️ MABC - Mining Association of British Columbia
