We'll gather outside at the farm fields, where Farmer Emilie will take about sustainable agriculture (and why it matters, for both food and flowers)

Then we'll dive into a bounty of colourful flowers, all grown here in Vancouver without pesticides or fertilizers. Together we'll learn how to build a spectacular bouquet, which you'll take home!

Hello folks! Sarah here. Harvest box number 10 means we are about halfway through our CSA season. So grateful for the hard work of staff and volunteers to grow and process the harvest. And so thankful for our CSA members, for trusting us to deliver a weekly box of goodness.

We are thrilled with the garlic harvest and will be including in boxes while supplies last. Garlic is a long season crop - we plant it in October or so, and harvest in July/August. Then we cure it, so it keeps longer.

If you've never tried farm fresh garlic you might be surprised by how juicy it is. Wanna know a trick? Chop your garlic and use it, then sprinkle cutting area with salt to capture those juices, and scrape salt off board.

Did you know we also grow flowers? Sold by bucket or bouquet, donated to community programs, and used in our two upcoming workshops on Flower Arranging - link in bio, sign-up via Eventbrite for either Sunday Aug 23 or Thursday Aug 27.

Summer squash - zucchini, pattypan, courgette. This fruit (usually considered a veggie in cookery) comes in a variety of shapes, colours and sizes. They grow so fast that it's easy to miss harvesting until they are huge! (and then you can make zucchini bread)
