Thank you again to Ajnai Colorado morin khuur center for their incredible performance at our 2026 Summer Institute! Our participants had a wonderful time learning about the Morin Khuur and engaging with Mongolian culture!

Continuing our 2026 Summer Institute with 4 incredible lectures by Dr. Katherine Alexander, Dr. Michael Brose, and Dr. Yong Cho!

Kicking off our 2026 Summer Institute with some wonderful lectures from Professor Michael Brose of Indiana University and some group exploration of the Asia for Educators Website!

For the last days of our Summer Study in Taiwan, participants went to the National Taiwan Museum - Railway Department Park to learn about the history and impact of railroads on the island. This was followed by a gondola ride to Maokong for a tea tasting experience. The final day of the Summer Study in Taiwan brought participants to the top of Taipei 101.

We learned so much at the National Museum of Prehistory in Taitung and then took the train back to Taipei. Another great day of learning about Taiwan!

Participants took a morning ferry to Green Island, where they visited the National Human Rights Museum - Green Island White Terror Memorial Park. It was a solemn day as the group read stories of those who had been imprisoned for several years on the island. There was an intense contrast between the horror of what happened within the walls of the prison and the beauty of the surrounding area.

Travel day! Train and Bus. We made it to the East Coast of Taiwan.

Today, for the Layers of History and Identity in Taiwan Summer Study, participants traveled from Pingtung to meet with members of the Paiwan tribe. They were greeted by two village chiefs, learned to make glass beads, and had the opportunity to learn from and about these communities. An unforgettable day!
