Extra Steps Learning Centres

There wasn’t just one idea happening in the open-ended art area- there were many! One group rolled up their sleeves for a messy and exciting paper mâché project, while another explored colours, textures and patterns while creating camouflage sheets for fun!

When children are given the freedom to explore, every table becomes a place for discovery, imagination, and problem-solving. We love watching their unique ideas unfold and seeing the joy they find in the creative process. 💛

At our preschool, we believe that the best learning happens through play, exploration, and imagination!

This week, our campers put their creativity to work by designing and building their own cars with LEGO! Once their vehicles were complete, each child received a personalized collectible car card featuring their very own creation! 😚

🔎Learning becomes exciting when children explore the familiar places they love!

Our scavenger hunt at our favorite local park sparked curiosity and observation while fostering a deeper connection to nature and our community. Plus, the children created lasting memories together through this fun activity! 💚

Our storytellers brought the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk to life through interactive play! It was wonderful to see their creative ideas on how to build the beanstalks and what happened after Jack reached the top come alive as they retold the story in their own unique ways. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Family Week at preschool was filled with so much joy, laughter, and connection! 💛

The children were so excited to welcome their families into the classroom and show them around their learning spaces. From special family questionnaires to creative crafts and activities, it was wonderful seeing everyone spending quality time together.

We also held a fundraiser for , and we are so grateful for the support from our amazing preschool community. Thank you to all the families who joined us!! ✨

😍😍 A big thank you to two of our preschool parents, who are veterinarians, for visiting and sharing about their important work! The children had the chance to explore real tools, molds of teeth and bones, and even practice pretend checkups on stuffies — and dogs too! 🐶🩺

We are so grateful to have such a supportive community that comes in to enrich the children’s learning with real-life experiences and hands-on exploration! ☺️☺️
