Institutionalized injustice has protected alleged harassers at Mcgill university, as well as other universities, for too long. By donating to the Balanced Justice campaign you are empowering victims of harassment, discrimination and sexual assault to pursue legal proceedings against individuals with access to vast amounts of resources. Justice should not be for sale and with this campaign you are helping to balance the scales.

(From ISSHA's newsletter):
My name is Shawn Shabaquay, I am an
Anishanaabe from Wabigoon Lake Ontario. My
spirit name is Red Cloud and I am from the
Caribou clan. I am truly grateful for my culture, it
has made a huge impact on my life. I've fasted
and Sundanced once a year for the last 3 years.
Next summer will be my 4th year, which is
significant because it will represent one (4
year) cycle completed. The Sundance I go to is a
Cree sundance out in Lillouet. It's a 4 day event
that happens in July. I have also been to many
sweats (2 -4 a month) in the last 3 years. I've been
fortunate enough to hear many teachings
regarding my culture in this process. I've sat down
with Elders and asked for teachings regarding the
Sacred Pipe and Sweatlodge. I recently joined a
drum group that emphasizes the importance of
cultural practices and being responsible in terms
of lifestyle (No drugs or alcohol etc). My cultural
practices are a way of life. I'm really excited to
share what I've learned with ISSHA's cultural
club, it will benefit everybody in one way or
another.
