About Me
~~~~~~~
My name is Tahnee Juryn. I grew up in the mountains of North Vancouver, BC, singing my way through the highs and lows of every stage of lifeโ€™s journey. Whether in choirs, in musicals, or along with my iPod, singing and music have been inextricable from my life since the very beginning (just ask my mom).
~~~~~~~
I have received a bachelor's degree with distinction in Jazz Studies with a Vocal Concentration from , and spent three years of that degree in the reputable vocal jazz group Nitecap. I have received vocal training from Carol-Lynne Quinn of , and attended masterclasses and seminars led by reputable names in the vocal health and science community, such as Dr. Ingo Titze, Mindy Pack, and Dr Reena Gupta.
~~~~~~~
I have previously sung in the Christmas carolling Quartet Four Calling Birds, and will be singing this holiday season with a currently unnamed Christmas jazz trio. I am currently the singer/keyboardist of the Vancouver Rush tribute band , and I sing, play bass, and co-write songs in an alt-rock trio called Hot Soup.
~~~~~~~
When I'm not singing, coaching, or playing music, I can probably be found riding my bike, walking the North Shore mountains, trying a new bread recipe, learning how to keep my garden alive, being a cat mom to my two cat-children, and enjoying my beautiful neighbourhood of Cambie Village

Did you know.....
๐ŸŽถ
Nobody is born with a "flawless voice"
๐ŸŽถ
The human voice, like the rest of your body, is comprised of muscles, tendons, and cartilage that work together to produce sound
๐ŸŽถ
Therefore, your voice has the same abilities and needs as the rest of your body
๐ŸŽถ
This means you can train, strengthen, workout, stretch, and grow your voice, just like the other muscles in your body!
๐ŸŽถ
This also means the voice needs space, care, and recovery time in-between workouts. Just like the rest of your body, it's important to warm-up and cool-down your voice before and after any intense vocalization
๐ŸŽถ
What does this mean?? It means that YOU have the power to train your voice into its highest potential, whatever that looks and sounds like for you!
๐ŸŽถ
If all of us have the potential to learn to ride a bike, draw a picture, run a 5k, or play the piano, then there is nothing stopping us from learning to sing!
๐ŸŽถ
So remember that there is no such thing as "I can't sing", only "I CAN Grow My Voice"!
